چکیده
Notwithstanding on variety of existing processes of induction skull melting of oxides, electrical and thermal properties of oxides melts are practically unknown. From the other hand, liquid-phase synthesis of Hi-Tech oxides materials such as new ceramics, monocrystals and glasses, requires knowledge of melts properties up to 3700 K. Inasmuch as the main physical property, which influence to the melt power consumption at induction heating is electrical conductivity then study of electrical conductivity temperature dependence is necessary. The principle and technical realization of the electrical conductivity measurement of melts are presented. The approach is based on induction melting in cold crucible technology and inverse electromagnetic problem solution. Analysis of the method accuracy via input data errors is presented. For increasing of Ill-posed problem solution was used over determination of set of equations. Conductivity of aluminum oxide melts for the temperature up to 3223 K is shown too.

A High-Accuracy, Calibration-Free Technique for Measuring the Electrical Conductivity of Molten Oxides
A high-accuracy, calibration-free technique to measure the electrical conductivity of molten oxides has been developed-the coaxial cylinders technique. Because the melt under investigation cokes in contact only with metal and not with anything dielectric, the new technique enables the measurement of the electrical properties of liquids inaccessible by classical high-accuracy techniques. Two coa...
متن کاملStructure, oxygen stoichiometry and electrical conductivity of LnPrO3+y (Ln=Y and Lanthanide) oxides
The crystal structure and d.c. electrical conductivity of a series of homogeneous mixed rare-earth oxides in LnPrO3+y (Ln=Y and lanthanide ion) system are reported. It is found that the ionic size of Ln determines the crystal structure of the oxides in this series. LaPrO3+y and CePrO3+y crystallise in the fluorite structure(fcc), whereas the remaining oxides adopt the C-type rare-earth oxide st...
متن کاملCan in situ measurements of mantle electrical conductivity be used to infer properties of partial melts?
[1] Constraints on bulk conductivity from magnetotelluric measurements and petrological analyses of late Quaternary peridotite xenoliths from the southern Sierra Nevada allow evaluation of models commonly used to relate electrical conductivity to the physical and chemical state of the upper mantle. In these models, two conductive melts (basalt and sulfide) are embedded in a resistive matrix. Bo...
متن کاملAn Insight into Colloidal Gas Aphron Drainage Using Electrical Conductivity Measurement
In the present paper Electrical Conductivity (EC) of Colloidal Gas Aphron (CGA) suspensions was measured for anionic and cationic surfactants (Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) and Tetradecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide (TTAB)). Experiments were made for different concentrations of SDS (6, 8.1, 10 mM) and TTAB (2, 3.51, 5 mM). CGA drainage behavior was observed and measured using 1 liter measuri...
متن کاملPHASE STABILITY AND CONDUCTIVITY OF δ-Bi2O3 WITH MIXTURE OF YTTRIUM AND YTTERBIUM OXIDES
In this research Bi2O3 was doped with mixtures of 8, 10, 12 and 18 mol % of Y2O3 and Yb2O3 to stabilizing the δ-Bi2O3 phase using solid state reaction technique. Experimental samples were fabricated by isostatic pressing and sintering at 850 °C for 24 h. X-ray diffraction analysis detected cubic phase (δ-Bi2O3) as the sole stable crystalline phase in samples including 12 and 18 mol % of Y2O3 an...
